Eggcrate ceilings are acrylic, polystyrene, or aluminum open-cell louvers that are made from products that have been tested in accordance with ASTM E84/UL723 and are Factory Mutual approved for use beneath sprinkler systems. Although most often used in the affordable 1/2'' x 1/2" x 3/8" white acrylic version, they are also available in a wide range of cell sizes, shapes, colors, and reflective finishes. Eggcrate ceilings are an excellent choice for light coves and soffits, lobbies, and office areas where controlled lighting and visual comfort must be tastefully and economically integrated with existing building conditions. |
